Reed & Barton

I remember as a little girl my mom had a huge Snow Globe collection.  During the holidays I would love turning them upside down, twisting the music player and quickly turning them back so I could hear the pretty song and watch it snow on the scene inside.
As a child it was magical!  Seeing these tiny figures I remember I had myself convinced at night time they would come out and play and quickly go back into their snow globe before anyone woke up.

Each globe had its own story and it own tiny piece of magic.  As an adult I no longer think this :), but I know my children do and its amazing to see the look of wonder on their face as they watch the tiny snow flakes fall inside.

Last year we had 2 globes and my kids adored them.  I remember as a child though my mom had at least 15 of them.  Every year she would buy a new one and tell me a new story.  This year I was determined to start a new tradition!  For as long as my boys are  young enough to believe the magic of Christmas I am going to get them a new Snow Globe each year!

And I have a feeling I know just where I'm going to be getting these Globes!
Reed & Barton has some of the pretties Snow Globes I have ever seen!  Beautifully designed with silver-plate finish and a charming scene inside.

They have severaChristmas Musical Snow Globes to choose from:
Santa Angel by Victor
Alpine Forest
Classic Santa
Building A Snow Man
Winter Dream
Nordic Santa

Each has a different scene inside and plays a different song.  Even the silver plate bottom is different!
In the end and after a long debate we choose:

 Nordic Santa

Santa hauls his toy-filled sack atop a snowy hill in the Nordic Santa Musical snow globe by Reed & Barton. With purposeful stride, he hurries on his way through drifting snow, while the strains of "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" fill the air. The scene slowly revolves on its exquisite silverplate base, studded with stylized Nordic snowflakes. Elegantly packaged for gift-giving and storage.
Plays: We Wish You a Merry Christmas
 Tarnish-Resistant
 H. 6 3/4"

As I shook the globe and started its music, Quinn, asked me "Why is Santa Walking."
And so our story began and our new tradition began!

I told him long ago before reindeer had the magic to fly Santa would have to walk to deliver our gifts.  Santa would have to cross big hills, go through rough snow storms and even cross the ocean!
At this point Brandon asked "well how did he cross the ocean."
I pointed to Santa's stick in the globe and told them "that is his magic stick and he would place it in the water and the ocean would freeze so he could easily walk across it."

This then promoted Quinn to ask if he still has his stick.  I explain that yes he does, but they used it to build his sleigh so that his sleigh now has magic.

In awe my boys continued to watch the tiny flakes fall on the Nordic Santa.

And knowing they felt the magic of Christmas was enough to make me smile.
I'm sure from the photo you can see just how lovely the Nordic Santa musical Snow Globe is.  I can't wait until the holiday when I can proudly display it on my shelf for all my guest to see.  The globe is durable and the silver bottom is tarnish free.
