THE MELTING POT COOKBOOK review and giveaway

My nanny was a baker!  For those of you who didn't know she made her living by making cakes.  Every birthday cake, bake sale item and even my wedding cake was made by my grandmother.  A lot of my childhood memories were made in her kitchen.  I associate baking and cooking with love.

I remember her round bin that had all the cookie cutter inside and how excited we would get when she got it out.  I remember everyone asking to lick the spoon or all of us hoping she would mess up a batch of cookies so we could eat the "bad" batch.  She taught me so much and gave me a love for food that is still with me today.

I bake/cook with my kiddos a lot :)  They both have their own little chef hats and as my grandmother did with me I am teaching them all I know.
We are always looking for new recipes to try and with The Melting Pot Cookbook we found so many yummy new items we can't wait to try.
I love that everything in the cookbook is easy to make, so my little guys can assist with almost all of them.

About the book:
THE MELTING POT COOKBOOK, a great holiday gift
THE IDEAL COOKBOOK FOR THE BEGINNER

Many of today's cookbooks use unique and expensive ingredients, and have complicated recipes that are hard to make. The Melting Pot Cookbook is an old-fashioned book from the days when the US was a Melting Pot. Then Grandma was a young cook and baker looking to friends and acquaintances for great recipes to impress her family (and her new in-laws). She had limited skills and knowledge of the kitchen, so the recipes had to be easy to make. And she and Grandpa didn't have money to waste, so they had to use common ingredients already in her kitchen. These are Grandma's best and favorite recipes, from soups and salads to entrees, to rich, mouth-watering desserts. They taste good, and many even look good, good enough to be decorations on the table until it's time to eat them. Any young cook will be thrilled when her guests ask for her recipe!

The Melting Pot Cookbook is available on Amazon.com for $9.44.

I showed my nanny the recipes inside and she smiled and told me this is what cooking always was to her.  Basic ingredients that are known and loved.  For most of the recipes I already had the items in my kitchen.  I didn't need to go to culinary school to make them either!  Super easy instructions to make super yummy food :)

This would be the perfect gift for anyone who loves to cook/bake!
