Origami Owl Custom Jewelry: Say it With Charms

When my hubby and I first started to go out he would buy me lots of jewelry.  I mean he would spend $700 on a necklace, I would smile, I loved the fact he was thinking about me and buying me these pretty things.
And I will be honest I love and still have each and ever thing he bought me.  I cherish everything he gives me.
I didn't have the heart to tell him though....  I like unique jewelry.  One of my sister and mine favorite thing to do is go to craft shows and find unique pieces.  Something that has meaning and isn't something that everyone else is going to be wearing.
I like jewelry that shows off my personality.
Recently my sister kept telling me about Origami Owl's new charm lockets.  She told me they have hundreds of charms I can pick from and make my something unique and 100% me.

Knowing my sister's habit of over exaggerating I had to check them out for myself.  And for once she wasn't fibbing!  They have a charm for everything and make it possible to tell your story through jewelry!
They have stars, letters, beach/ocean, sports, teams, family, food, animals and so much more!
Ever had an amazing trip to the beach that you never wanted to forget?  You can make a beach themed charmed locket.  Have a friend that is getting married?  Get her a locket filled with charms that remind you of her.
Speaking of getting married they even have cute Mrs and Mr charms!
You can tell any story you want and you can do it with a stylish charm locket.

To start you have to buy a locket front and back (Base and face.)  Next you need to pick a chain.  I am horrible at this, I can never tell how long it is going to be.
I ordered with Lorie (Her website will be at the bottom of the post) and I was amazed at how helpful she was!  I told her about where I wanted it to set and she talked me through it and help me find the perfect chain.

Next you pick your charms.  Now this part was hard there are so many to choose from!  I picked two to start.  I can keep filling my locket as I go, but I wanted to start off with two.  Oh and they are so affordable each charm is only $5.  The charms are about the size of an eraser at the end of a pencil.  So you can fit a lot into your locket.
I ended up choosing:
The Compass
and
The Gold Watch Gear

Okay so for a few of you wondering what kind of story does that tell??
I think they are unique!
I'm weird, I'm different and I don't always fit into the "normal" category.
Growing up my dad always told me "I think you have a loose gear."  As a child that horrified me!  I thought there was something wrong with me, lol.  As an adult I realize that he just meant I was different.  My dad never meant it in a cruel way, it was his own way of telling me I was unique.
When I look at the gear in my locket I think of my dad and all the times he told me I had a loose gear.
And speaking of unique it is also why I choose the Compass.  All too many times in life it always felt being "normal" would be easier. I wont fib I even tried it as a teenager...  Laughed at things that weren't funny, watch movies that the other girls were watching, ate strange food, dressed in clothing I hated and had the most boring conversations of my life...
I WAS MISERABLE!
At one point I decided it wasn't worth it.  Strangely enough it was the Dr. Suess quote "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind" that made me realize I needed to start living my life in a way that made me happy.  I am weird, I am awkward and it was okay!
No I don't want to watch the Notebook I want to watch Lord of The Rings!  I don't think salad is really a food, I want some cheese fries with bacon please.  Heck lets make it a meal and throw some ranch on top.  I don't want to get my nails done the Colts are playing.
(This last one is for my hubby....) I don't care that it is 4am when James Franco and Seth Rogen are hilarious!  And their movies must be quoted as loud as possible.
It is funny.... even at 4 am, even when you have work the next day and my over the top shaking the bed from laughing/snorting has woken you up....   Okay maybe me slapping you on the back and repeating it ten times was over the top ;).  lol
So I choose the compass because it reminds me to always choose my own path, not the one I think others would want me to take, but the one that makes me happy.

I have two little weirdos for kiddos too, so I am glad that I can always helps them be the people the want to be.  Instead of the people other want them to be.

So what story do my charms tell?
"I'm a loose gear, but it is okay I choose this path!"
