Merry Christmas and happy Holidays Simply Me Blog readers!! Many of you may not know this about me but I am part Irish!
Growing up my mom would also put a candle near our window on Christmas Eve. Little girl me use to love this and would ask my mom WHY? After many years I knew the why, I just wanted to hear her tell me.
The reason was just in case someone like Mary and Joseph needed help in the night that candle showed we were willing to help. I asked her why my other friends didn't do this and she use to pat my head and tell me it was because we were Irish. Was that the real reason? I have no clue!! But little girl me was pretty proud to be Irish at Christmas time and I use to clean my room extra clean that night in case Mary and Joseph needed to stay in my room.
That was one of my favorite holiday traditions growing up. Baking cookies with my nanny, singing Christmas songs with my siblings and making cards for family were some of my other favorite times. For me the holidays is about family. One of my other favorite thing is getting that perfect gift! Seeing someones face light up as they open my gift and I know I got it right! That all the time and stress I put into getting just the right gift was so worth it to see them smiling
