Sophie Barnes's first published work and I think she got it, if you are a
fan of Julia Quinn's work I think you will enjoy this book.
The book starts off with Emily Rutherford and her sisters struggling because of the death of their parents. Their only hope is for Emily to marry her childhood crush..... but it turns out he is marring her best friend. Lucky Francis saves the day and offers to help both Emily and her sisters. Slowly she starts to realize what she really wants and you get to watch both her and Francis grow and become better people. But Francis's dark past may just ruin the day after all.
Francis shut everyone out a long time ago but for some reason watching Emily suffer is something he just can't stand. Slowly he realizes that he wants her forever but will his past let that happen.
