SHADE OF REDD review

Time: Saturday afternoon
Event: Taking the family to Reading shopping
Amount of time in car: 1 hour to get there, 1 hour home

"Boys are you ready to go?"  I ask as I walk into the living room purse in hand.
"Yes mom!"  They reply in unison.
"Hey mom can I bring my DS?"  Instant fear and hesitation shoots through me.
"Buddy how about we listen to music and play a car game instead?"
"No mom I want to play my game."  Defeat...
"Okay well just bring one game....."
"NO I'll get bored I'm putting one in my pocket...."  Dear God its me Savannah please just please not this time...  Its a long drive God pretty please.

"Fine fine lets just go."
Driving along 20 minutes in.  "So Buddy how was school this week."
"Fine mom shhh I'm trying to beat this level."  A false sense of hope settles of me.
5 minutes later...
"Well I'm sick of this game time for a new one..."  God GOD its me remember earlier what I asked for pretty please?!?!

"Mom its stuck help MEEEEEE!"
"I can't buddy I'm driving play the game you have in."
"No I want this one.  I NEED this one."
~Please God please~
"ITS STUCK!"
Lots of movement, whining and kicking the back of my seat prevails.  And then I hear it... The sound of a small game hitting the floor.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO"  The car begins to vibrate, the front dash starts to crack (Okay that is an exaggeration lol)
"I DROPPED ITTTTT!!"  "Pull over PULL OVERRRRR"
Life as we know it has ended.
I try to calm him down "Buddy just wait until we get there I'm not pulling over."
"I can't live without that game.  I NEED it."
The rest of trip involves my son telling me how much he needs the game and how his life is over and nothing will ever be the same!

I'm sure you can see why I needed a new solution.  A few weeks ago I was reading my emails and seen someone was looking for reviews for a wristband.  I thought hmm this might be cool then I clicked over...  I found a mini miracle.  A wristband that holds 4 DS games!!

Small enough to fit onto small wrist and the games easily slip in!
No more of my little guy wiggling in his booster seat trying to get a game.  No more falling games.  No more screaming and crying and trips from you know where.

Finally we can drive in peace!
Its made of silicon so he can even slip it off and on all by himself.

Yes this is Quinn not Brandon.  For some reason he was being photo shy :/, but I wanted to show you how cute it looks on :)

And they come in several colors :)

I can safely say this is one of those products that you just think to yourself "Thank GOD someone invented this"
This mama is listing it as a must have item!!

  3. That's a pretty handy tool for moms of mini gamers!! I love the story behind it. It's almost like you channeled me and my son during a car trip when he was younger. Now, we've moved onto consoles, which thankfully cannot be taken into cars, YET. Of course, there are smartphones...

  4. How neat! My son is just starting to take an interest in games so I will need one of these before long.
