Parker River Knife review and giveaway

This post is part of my Father's Day Guide

Parker River Knife review and giveaway

Now that Mother's Day is over all my attention moves to Father's Day.  Which to me is a LOT harder!  I mean for my mom I can give her candles, bath stuff, flowers, candy, knick-knacks, ect....
For my dad the man only likes 3 things TV, food and hunting.  And not the good food like chocolate (you know the easy stuff to shop for) no he likes steak and potatoes and the stuff that is kinda hard to give as a gift..

I spent the last several weeks thinking, after a long debate and almost giving up I found this awesome shop that sells Pocket Knifes.
Not just any knife a personalized Engraved knife that is one of kind!
I knew beyond a doubt this is what my dad needed.  You have no clue how many times he is yelling for a knife.  And no I don't mean in a serial killer sort of way lol I mean to cut plastic off of boxes, open packages, the man is always eating apples and hollering for a knife to slice it.  I know nothing of hunting, but I'm sure he needs it there too.
So with all that in mind I sent a message to the company to see if I could review with.  I'm sure you can imagine just how excited I was when they wrote back yes!!

Parker River Knife
I was personally able to revieParker River "Classic" Folding Pocket Knife, Rosewood.  I got to of course chose my own engraving so I did my dad's name "Rodney Blankenhorn" I also got to chose which font to  use.  I chose the classic script font.

 More about the knife:
The Parker River "Classic" Knife is a sturdy and reliable linerlock knife designed for everyday use. The classic look of the wood handle is inspired by the knives our grandfathers carried years ago. While classic in its looks, this knife boasts modern features and performance. Made from high quality stainless steel, the partially serrated drop point blade holds a sharp edge while being extremely resistant to corrosion. This is a solid knife designed to last a lifetime. The wood handles offer the perfect space for custom engraving. Add a name or message to the knife, up to 18 characters, and create a unique tool that's also a keepsake.
I really like the fact the engraving is on the handle.  According to my hubby this will make sure not to mess with the knife's performance.

The knife is 3.75" long while closed, making it idea for everyday carry.

When open it measures 6.25". The best length for most cutting needs.

The linerlock securely holds the blade open.  That way my dad doesn't have to worry about it closing on his fingers when in use.

At a weight of 4.5 ounces, this is solid knife designed to handle daily use.  I love its so light weight my dad can have it in his pocket and not even realize its there.

Beautiful rosewood handles. Please note, actual color of the knives will vary slightly due to the natural coloring of the wood.  I know my dad is going to know a lot more about the "wood" then I would.

Equipped with a thumb stud for easy one hand opening.

There is 5 engraving choices and the classic pocket knife is only 1 option they also have several other knife choices that come in different wood.

When my package arrived it came in its own burlap gift bag.  There was also a penny with the knife and I was really impressed with the story behind the penny.

In many cultures around the world the act of giving a knife as a gift is sometimes utilized to symbol the ending of a friendship or relationship. But knives are useful and beautiful tools that make great gifts. A tradition that goes along with knife giving in these areas is to include a small coin, usually a penny with any gift knife. When the receiver of the gift opens the present, they immediately give the penny back to the giver of the gift. This way they have symbolically purchased the knife, which prevents both the blade from going dull and the friendship from being severed.

We tape a penny to every box as a token of good luck to you the new owner of a knife, or for whoever is going to receive the knife as a gift.

I didn't show my dad the knife yet, because like I said before this is going to be a Father's Day gift.  I did show my hubby and brother and they were both jealous!  My hubby gave me a very pointed look and said 'I hope the boys get me one!!'
