National School Lunch Week

Today is the last day of National School Lunch week.  As the mom of a very picky eater it made me think about the things my oldest eats.  He very seldom gets a cafe lunch so I am always packing for him.  I'm looking at our menu for the next 4 weeks and out of 20 days he is only eating lunch in the cafe 4 of those days.

I don't mind packing his lunch, I actually prefer it that way I know he gets everything he needs.

It does take a bit of research though and sometimes he asks me to change things up.  So in honor of National School Lunch week I would like to show you 3 super yummy products that are not only a healthy alternative, but also sure to be the start of any lunch box.

So lets first talk about the juice!  It is a well known fact no lunch is complete with out a drink.  But let me ask you is your current juice box as healthy as you think...

You might think that drinks labeled "fruit juice" are a great option for your child but the truth is, some boxed juices can have upwards of 15 grams of sugar per serving, almost the same amount as a can of soda! Instead, try a 100% natural, low sugar option like Coco Joy Kids. The new, naturally fruit-flavored pure coconut water for kids contains no added sugar or preservatives and is only 30 calories.

They are yummy, healthy and kids will love that they have their favorite characters!
Coco Joy is 100% pure all green coconuts.  I had no clue that they have more calcium if you harvest them before they turn white!
It is a feel good drink that moms can be proud to pack for their little ones.
The taste is crisp, fresh and not over powering

Now I'm sure you kids look forward to their special snack as much as my soon does.
Instead of their favorite candy pack If your child has a sweet tooth but you're weary of giving them a bag full of high-sugar, artificially flavored gummy snacks, go for Welch's Fruit Snacks! The convenient 80-calorie pouches of Welch's Fruit Snacks provides 100% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin C and are gluten-free, preservative free and even come in a reduced sugar variety.

! Studies show that people who eat whole grains regularly have a lower risk of obesity, so why sneak in those added benefits through a delicious snack like Lance Whole Grain Cracker Sandwiches. Available in 3 great varieties including Cheddar Cheese, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and Peanut Butter, Lance Whole Grains contain no trans fat, and a whopping 11 grams of whole grain per serving!
My little guy always brings home half his sandwich no amount of begging will force him to eat it at school.  I worry that he is not getting the proper amount of grain or protein since it has peanut butter!
When I found out Lance offers a Whole Grain Cracker Sandwich I was so excited!  I never have to beg him to eat Crackers and if anything he has been asking me to make sure and pack his crackers

Our kids deserve only the best.  The time to start teaching them healthy eating habits is now!  A few simple changes can lead to them live a healthier, happier life.
And thanks to the 3 items I featured above we no longer have to sacrifice taste :)
