ESCAPE FROM THE OVERWORLD book review

Brandon Jr is really into Minecraft.  He likes being able to make his own world and having the ability to get creative.
A year ago the Minecraft frenzy hit my home hard!  We have the game for two different systems and also have several toys.  My boys even know what their names/titles are and every time I ask them were their green monster is they both roll their eyes at me and say, "They are creepers mom!!"
I personally love the game and I like that my kiddos get to build their own world and really use their imagination.

We are always adding new Minecraft to their collection.  As I said I love that them game gets them to be creative and recently it has gone even further and makes reading fun for them!!
Escape From the Overworld

Inspired by the bestselling PC game of all time, Danica Davidson delivers a tale of friendship, courage, and adventure.
Stevie is in for a big surprise while building his treehouse: he’s first attacked by a creeper, and then must take on a group of zombies! He feels a bit down on himself from the day he is having, so when he finds a portal into a brand-new world, he’s willing to take his chances.
He steps into it and is suddenly in the room of a sixth-grade girl Maison, who’s a talented builder. Stevie is shocked by how different this world is, and Maison takes him under her wing.

Sadly their fun is short lived when they soon realize Stevie wasn't the only thing to come from his world!  Zombies have also made their way out of the portal! More and more creatures are slipping out and wreaking havoc on a world that has no idea how to handle zombies, creepers, giant spiders, and the like.

Stevie and Maison must come together to put them back!

My boys LOVE it!  My 7 year old was able to read it on his own and each night we read a little more before bed.  I got excited when my boys rushed me along to get to story time faster.  Most of them time they enjoy, but for once with this book they were ecstatic  and couldn't wait to see what happened next.
The adventure is fun and perfect for any Minecraft fan, but also parents will adore it because it teaches life lessons.
Everything from making mistakes, growing up and so much more
