All the Above Clothing
Every time I log onto facebook or turn on the news I know, just know, I am going to get sad over something. There is so many horrible things going on in the world.
With so much negativity it can be hard to find the good. At times almost impossible.
But sometimes you find that story and it puts a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. For that small moment your faith in humanity is restored.
And you even feel a bit inspired yourself to make a difference. To help those in need. That inspiration is what the world needs.
All the Above Clothing is an inspired clothing company. They make inspirational clothing that inspires self expression. They give an everyday outfit a different meaning.
And no their entire line of clothing is not religious. Some of their clothing is inspired from books, songs and just every day life.
Each piece though stands for something.
And with each item purchased a donation goes towards a non-profit organisation!
Clothing that not only has meaning, but goes towards a good cause? Pretty awesome in my book.
Okay lets focus on the two tees I was able to review:
“Sometimes in tragedy we find our life’s purpose – the eye sheds a tear to find its focus.”
Such a simply shirt, yet it inspires so much feeling just reading that one line. We have all been there, we have all had hard times. Sometimes it can feel so much easier to just let them overtakes us. To let them beat us. Wouldn't it be better though to let them make us stronger. To take something bad and no matter how horrible pull something good from it? Use it to grow instead of letting us beat it. Each shirt at All the Above can be interpreted in different ways, but this how this shirt made me feel.
As for the shirt itself, it is super soft and a thin material. I love how it doesn't feel stiff at all. It does cling a bit though.
Next I was able to review:
“We do not exist for ourselves.” – Thomas Merton
I am sure most people read this shirt and think of religion and how they live to serve god. Which is great :), but not what this shirt makes me think of it.
For me it makes me think of motherhood. For those of you gasping, let me explain. I was 19 when I found out I was pregnant. I was a pretty mature 19 year old so there was no OMG my life is over. Instead I was overwhelmed with a feeling of not being able to be a good mother. I had a rough childhood and all I could think was "My god what if I ruin this little life."
For 9 months I stressed and worried and kept thinking I was going to mess this up.
Then my little man was born and the moment I saw him I thought to myself I would do anything for him. I would give up everything for him.
In that moment my entire life became about him and years later when my youngest was born I worried that I didn't have enough love for two little boys. I was wrong, my heart just got bigger :).
My purpose in life just got bigger.
I exist not for myself anymore, but for them. Everyday I try to make their lives easier, try to make sure they are happy. And no that doesn't mean I don't worry about my own happiness, because seeing them grow into a amazing people does make me happy.
The two shirts I reviewed are only two of many. And the inspiration behind each just is just as deep and meaningful as these two.
Their clothing is comfy and stylish. With so much negativity in the world it is nice to be reminded of the good. Through something as simple as a shirt we can be that inspiration.
