My grandfather is one of the strongest people I know. As a little girl I always thought he was some sort of super hero. He is funny, smart, strong, good hearted and bigger than life.
Several years ago he got cancer, he survived (thank God), but seeing my strong grandfather so weak broke me.
There was nothing any of us could do to help. Seeing a loved one suffer and being unable to relive that pain is one of the worst feelings in the world. I wouldn't wish that helplessness on anyone.
My grandfather though is strong and he survived. At 70+ years old you would have never guessed he had cancer. Some days I swear he does more than I do!
