Never judge a book by its cover or in this case a Bible. When it arrived I just kind of gave it a HUH? look. The cover is so not what you would expect from a Bible.
Upon opening it though the old saying don't judge a book by its cover was drove home. The tools that accompany this Bible are amazing! And things I can use in my everyday life, for example on page 41 we were asked 3 question.
The first one was;
Understand your desire --- What motivates you to become more like Christ? What does a truly honest answer look like? What are the desires of your heart that you want the Lord to give you (see PS 37:4)?
For me this was a thinker! I know that I want to walk the walk that will make me Christ like, but why? What are my motivates? Are they pure or do I want something in return?
For me the answer turned out to be my boys. I kept thinking about them as I pondered this question and how I want them to have that relationship with God. How I was to be close to God so I can help them also be close with him. I kept thinking of all the beautiful blessing God has given me and how I want me boys to also feel that joy.
I like that these tool pages are very to the point and let you walk away with a new interpretation of what you read. Sometimes I read the Bible and don't really connect it to my everyday life. It is almost like I am just going through the motions. With this Bible the tools help me to walk away with so much more, it is like reading the Bible for the first time!
