FluidStance Slope

I was given products in this post for the purpose of review.  I was not paid to write this review, all options are my own.
In the past several weeks I have been thrust into the roll of homeschooling mom.  I work in a school teaching special need kiddos, I thought no big deal I got this.  Oh how wrong I was!  First there is so many distractions in my house.  Toys, pets and food the unlimited access to food.  Well I handled that by making rules.  All was taken care expect the pets, I cannot tell them it is school time don't bark at passing cars.  So I got 2 quite spots for my boys to work in.  Next I came to realize they were playing games on their laptop.  Grrrrr so more rules were made.  So were good right?  Nope!  Now I had to deal with the endless request for pencils, pens, markers and paper.  I can provide most of it, but I don't have unlimited amounts of paper laying around.  I sent the kids note books to school with them at the start of the year.  I hate waste of any kind!  I go reusable whenever I can, yes I'm that woman with the flex cup!
Deep breath though I found a solution, that made me and my kids happy.  FluidStance Slope! FluidStance launched their Slope recently - a personal whiteboard that is geared towards reducing our paper waste. This doubles up as a great "doodle tool" for kids at home, and also as a way to spice up your work desk for parents working from home. It's also made entirely of steel - Earth's most recycled material!

Personal desktop whiteboard & pen Made in the US of 100% steel and powder-coated using a low emissions process. Did you know that every year, 50 Billion paper sticky notes are made? That’s millions of trees cut down from our amazing forests. The Slope is here to help reduce your eco-footprint by eliminating disposable paper notes. Inspired by an open, groomed ski run, FluidStance’s Slope lets you lay down your thoughts while you help protect our forests.

Worthy of the modern office, the Slope was designed to fit perfectly in the space between your keyboard and monitor. It offers a gentle angle for writing and a premium dry-erase surface. Slope’s raised surface means you can slide your keyboard under it for storage, freeing up extra space on your desk.  (I have even been putting my keyboard on top of it to take some of the pressure of my wrists when I type!) Slope features a phone dock that allows the perfect angle of view, with a dedicated space for your charging cable. And, there’s a channel to hold your dry-erase marker and other tools. The Slope is made of 100% heavy-duty steel (perfect for magnets) and is powder-coated with a low-emissions method near our warehouse in Santa Barbara, California for the perfect dry-erase surface on your desk. Slope has felt bumpers to protect your desk and a dry-erase pen with eraser. Made in California.
And to help further reduce our impact on the environment, for every Slope sold, we will plant one tree.

So right away I liked that it was sloped and came up off the table.  It made writing and seeing what we were writing so much easier.  It has nice grips on the bottom making it not slip and slide as we use it.  I like that it has a good weight to it, not so heavy that we can't move it, but also not so light that it goes forward when we are writing.  The dry erase markers erase so easily and don't leave behind any smudges.  Since it is steal there is the added bonus of it being magnetic.  Oh and there is a ledge too at the top, perfect for putting my phone on!  I've been putting it on horizontally it just seems to be more stable that way.  There is also a little notch there for the cord to come through.
So Brandon Jr is currently working on algebra.  Math was one of my favorite subject in school, but he struggles so much with it!

We redo the same problem several times before he can get it right.  No big deal not all of us our great at math!  But the amount of paper he uses tends to add up.  Not with the FLUIDSTANCE Slope.  If he messes up we just erase and start again.  It is also easier for him to see when I'm teaching him a certain math skill.  On paper I wrote small to save space, on The Slope I don't feel guilty writing big.
And my youngest son has been using it to practice his cursive handwriting.

I love that not only can my boys work on it, but I have been using it as well.  Writing down quick notes as I'm working, the other day I was using it to figure out my bills and I have also been putting my ereader on it when I'm using a recipe.  It props it up making it so much easier for me to read!  It is like a multifunction tool!!
