Sanditon

I was given products in this post for the purpose of review.  I was not paid to write this review, all opinions are my own.

With everything going on this past year things have really slowed down in the Miller household.  Which is saying a lot, because we were already home most of the time.  We have had more game nights and movie nights in this past year then ever before.  My boys and I made so many crafts and found several fun hiking trails behind our house....  and one really scary one.  We don't go on that one anymore, it is guarded by an angry blue jay lol. We grew an epic garden and my boys even started to learn how to cook this past year.  My 9 year wakes me up sometimes on a Saturday so I can have breakfast in bed!  I'm not going to lie, his scrambled eggs are better than mine!  Even though I am in no way happy the world is  in such turmoil, I  am glad that my family was able to find the silver lining.  And take this time to not only grow as a family, but also as individuals.

As much as I like spending this time with my kids I also like that my hubby and I have grown closer.  My husband is my high school sweetheart, we have grown so much in the last 15 years.  Sadly with our boys playing sports, school and all their other activities we don't get to spend much time together.  Even when we do I feel like I'm checking an email or he is paying a bill on his phone.  Thanks to the slower pace our life has taken this past year we actually been spending quality time together.  My boys have a 930 bedtime, so that means every night my hubby and I have 1 1/2 hours of us time.  Sometimes we play games (I'm really bad at checkers I discovered lol) sometimes we just talk and one of my favorite things we do is discover new shows to watch together.

A new show we recently discovered and both really like is Sanditon.

“Sanditon” is the fan-favorite series that has everyone begging for a second season! Emmy Award®-winning writer and Britain’s national treasure, Andrew Davies, adapts Jane Austen’s last unfinished novel vividly to life in an epic drama romantics will fall in love with. Upon her arrival in the seaside town of Sanditon, the sensible and naïve Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams), observes hypochondria, avarice and attempted seduction run amok. Lady Denham (Anne Reid), is playing matchmaker for her destitute nephew, Sir Edward, who is determined to seduce Lady Denham’s ward, Clara and become the primary heir to his aunt’s estate. The arrival of wealthy, mixed-race heiress Miss Lambe, under the guardianship of visionary entreprenuer Tom Parker’s (Kris Marshall), upright and charming, brother Sidney Parker (Theo James), adds an interesting complication. Eligible men naturally find Miss Lambe fascinating, while Charlotte is intrigued by Sidney... With many promising loose ends and romantic possibilities, how will the young people pair off? Who will Lady Denham designate as her heir? Will Tom’s tourist spa finally catch on with the public? Where will that lead? Andrew Davies imaginatively enters this world of Georgian-era suitors, hustlers and health cranks and boldly tells us what happens next. “Sanditon, Season 1” has a run time of 370 minutes on 2 discs and extra bonus footage that did not air during broadcast.

My review:

The setting and costumes in this show are absolutely amazing.  Who ever was in charge of that did a beautiful job.  That is just the beginning of the things that make Sanditon a must see show.  The acting is wonderful and everyone really has their part down.  The chemistry between the two main characters is spectacular.   As mentioned above it is based of the works of Jane Austen so you know the story is both intriguing and keeps you wanting more.  Their is drama, love and of course so scandal.

As I said my hubby and I have been trying to find new shows to watch.  Both of us have our fingers crossed for a season two!
