Anova Culinary

I was given products in this post for the purpose of review.  I was not paid to write this review.  All options are my own

This past year has been a crazy one and quite honestly a scary one.  With so much going on no one knows what to expect next.  Worst yet, we cannot even be with our loved ones for fear of getting sick.  It has been a bit of a wake up call for a lot of people.  I live a simple life and I love it.  I don't follow the latest fashion, my house is 'cozy' at best and little things like a good book & cuddling up with my pup makes me happy.

I'm lucky that my grandmother is still alive and of sound mind.  Ever since I was a little girl she has taught me to take care of myself.  She taught me to sew, cook, can food, garden, raise chickens, make soap and so much more.  As a child I thought this was all so much fun.  It wasn't until later in life I realized the true gift she gave me.  She gave me the gift of knowledge and with it comes peace of mind.  When the shelves at the stores started to clear out it, I still had shelves full of canned food.  Most of it I grew myself!  Don't get me wrong, I was scared, but because of the amazing things my grandmother taught me I was prepared.

Now I can go on and on about canning food and living a self sustainable life, but that isn't what this post is about.  When you can food I need so much to fill a jar.  When I just have a handful of something I cannot jar it.  And honestly some food doesn't can as well as others.  In that case I like to freeze it.  For the longest time I would use my father in laws vacuum sealer (I just had to buy my own bags) but when the sickness hit and I couldn't just go to his house I pleased I realized I needed my own.

Which is what led me to the Anova Culinary Precision vacuum sealer.

How to use:
A simple press of a button, that’s all it takes to master this sealer in mere seconds and get a perfect seal every single time.

I simple put my filled bag into position and hit the vacuum/seal button.  I couldn't get over how fast it went!  I was able to seal a months worth of food in minutes!  Not only does this save  me time and space in my freezer, but it also keeps my food fresher longer.
I also have  the option to just seal something.  We go on road trips in the summer and I pack food for the car (it saves money)  I don't need this stuff vacuumed, but a nice seal goes a long way to keeping it fresh.  There is also a pulse button.  So this button lets you control how much air is vacuumed out.  For the life of me I couldn't figure out why this would be useful, until  my hubby reminded me of the bread loaves I mushed in his dads vacuum sealer, lol.  I don't have to worry about that anymore though since I can now control just how much air is removed.

If you are like me kitchen space is sacred.  Remember I told you at best my house cozy?  I don't have a lot of space which is why I love the fact that the Avona Precision Vacuum Sealer was purposefully designed to be much smaller than most vacuum sealers on the market.

Overall I LOVE this kitchen accessory and cannot get over how many times I used it over the past week.

Several times a month I'll make dinner and have a handful of left over mushrooms, carrots or something else.  In the past I would either toss them of feed them to my chickens.  I hate to waste anything, so  it drove me nuts to do this.  Or if I would make to much for dinner and know there wasn't anyway we were going to eat it all.  Bless my hubby he has taken the same left over 4 or 5 days in a row for lunch.  But it is so much nicer to just vacuum seal them and have them at a later time.  Not to mention it gives me a break from making dinner on a future date!  And it gets even better.  You don't have to break the bank to own this must have appliance!
