For almost a year the virus has been wreaking havoc on our world. Besides having to wear a mask and do some homeschool, my life didn't change all that much.... Until it did, on Friday 1/22/2021 we buried my grandfather who died of covid complications. My grandfather survived cancer, a super rare tick bite disease and a heart attack. My grandfather was the rock of our family and the strongest person I know.
I'm writing this to hopefully make people understand just how scary this virus really is. I understand no one likes to wear the mask and no one likes having their routine messed up with sudden homeschool, but it really is necessary. Most young people can survive the virus and have mild symptoms, but the older generation will struggle. Please take all steps necessary to keep each other safe. I don't know who passed the virus on to my grandfather, but it hurts my heart to know it could have been prevented.
We all know to wash our hands, wear the mask and keep a safe distance away from each other. There is other things we can do as well.
I'm going to list a few, but there is so much more you can be doing to keep yourself and others safe.
1)I wipe down all my groceries (or wash them).
2)They also have sprays to disinfect your pets. My Loki has more friends then I do, so when I take him for a walk people like to pet him. When we get home I give him a little spray down (which he hates) to get rid of those germs.
3)If possible make some life style changes. I've been doing my shopping online and having curb side pick up done. Giant Food Stores does an awesome job!!
4)Talk with your kids, some kids really don't understand. Teach them how to wash their hands and tell them not to touch their faces in public.
5)Also check into a good home Air Purifier! 6) And last but not least if you are sick stay home. I know losing the hours at work may hurt. I understand that kids may fall behind in school. Make the right choice, not just the one that is right for you, but the one that is right for everyone.
