In addition to not being able to go out and socialize, PA also has several feet of snow!  And to top it off today we are getting another 7 inches!  Now I can't even take my pups for walks, I'm going a little stir crazy.  But thanks to PBS I now have several new drama series to help these slow cold days pass.

MASTERPIECE MYSTERY!: Miss Scarlet & The Duke

Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders) stars in a six-part mystery as the headstrong, first-ever female detective in Victorian London, who won’t let any naysayers stop her from keeping her father’s business running. Stuart Martin (Jamestown) plays her childhood friend, professional colleague, and potential love interest, Scotland Yard Detective Inspector William Wellington, a.k.a., The Duke. The cast includes Andrew Gower (Poldark, Outlander), Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey), Ansu Kabia (World on Fire, The Long Song), and Cathy Belton (Philomena

Genre: Mystery, Drama

Run Time: 270 min. on 2 discs

I love it!  The characters have so much depth and are engaging.  The chemistry is awesome and has me unable to stop watching.  And the plot is fun, I love watching Miss Scarlett try to solve the mystery before the police.

American Masters: Laura Ingalls Wilder - Prairie to Page

An unvarnished look at the unlikely “Little House” series author whose autobiographical fiction helped shape American ideas of the frontier and self-reliance.

Genre: Biography Run

Time: 83 min. on 1 disc

I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie!  And even though I have seen every episode (multiple times) I still love tuning in and rewatching them.  As a lifetime fan I was so excited to see this documentary on the beloved Laura Ingalls!  It was fun to learn new things about the person who actually lived Little House on the prairie!
