Still in the Game Finding the Faith to Tackle Life's Biggest Challenges By Devon Still with Mark Dagostino

I was given a copy of this book for the purpose of review  I was not paid to write this review

In an era of cynicism and divisiveness, the tale of this young angel who refused to give up hope combined with the simple act of a young father doing what he ought to do—standing by his ailing daughter through thick and thin—set the social-media world into a whirlwind of positivity. Their inspirational story made the sports world (and the celebrity world alongside it) sit up and smile at the ESPYs. It grabbed the attention of audiences far outside of sports, too, on the Today Show and Good Morning America, and in the pages of People magazine, US Weekly, and more.
Everyone seemed to want to know one thing: How did this dad and his little girl find a way to smile through the pain, and to keep fighting even when everything seemed to be going against them? The news media fell in love with the message and told the story the best they could in sound bites and interview clips, and yet the millions of readers and viewers who watched it all unfold in real time are still hungering for more.
To Devon Still and his daughter, this wasn’t just a story. This was their test. This was their faith on the line. And this book is their chance to show the world just how powerful faith can be. It’s their chance to show people there’s always reason for hope—and to give them some actionable steps they can take to better their own lives, right now.

This book is an emotional roller coaster and I enjoyed every minute of the ride.  It starts with a young Devon and tells the story of his hardships growing up in Delaware.  You can't help but feel for the little boy who life just seemed to keep knocking down.  Devon started to go down a dark road, but a bike stealing incident started to turn his life around.  Joe Paterno made a personal visit to a young Devon and offered him the chance to better himself and his future.  Devon joined the Penn State family, though he still hit a few bumps in the road his life was alerted for the better.  Fast forward several years and Devon is now in the NFL living the dream when suddenly one of the worst things that can happen to a person happened to him.  HIs young daughter has cancer.
Devon's life was again about to be changed forever.  Devon's strength and beautiful love for his daughter brought me to tears.  And his love for God is a true testimony to who he is as a person.  His family is a true inspiration.  This book is a must read.  My husband who isn't a reader now just started and can't put it down!

Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Disclaimer:  I was given products in this post for the purpose of review.  I was not paid to write this review
Disney's dazzling adventure "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms"- inspired by E.T.A. Deleted scenes provide a look at magical moments that didn’t make the final version of the movie.
In “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” Clara travels along a golden thread, presented at Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual party, eagerly searching for a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a music box that holds a priceless gift. When she enters a mysterious parallel world, Clara encounters a Nutcracker soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and three Realm regents, including the Sugar Plum Fairy (Keira Knightley). Ultimately, she must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve the key and return harmony to the unstable world.
The stunning feature film will be packaged and released in several different formats, giving families the flexibility to watch it on a variety of different devices. My review:
The movie starts with Clara and her family dealing with the death of their beloved mother.  The dad is trying to hold the family together, but it is Christmas time and the are feeling that loss.
The family is getting ready for a Christmas party when Clara's father hands each of the kiddos a gift.  Clara is left a golden egg with no key.  She goes to godfather's house hoping he can give her the key. That is how the adventure begins.  Clara travels to the 4 realms where nothing is as it seems.  She with the help of her new friends have to save the day, but it proves to be hard when you don't know who the true enemy is.
There was a true magical element to this movie that I think only Disney can make happen.

Snow day equal game day!

Disclaimer:  I was given products in this post for the purpose of review.  I was not paid in anyway to write this review
We are about to get hit with a pretty wicked snow storm here in PA.  My boys school already canceled for Monday.  Now we love to play in the snow, but after awhile it just gets to cold!  Which is why I stocked up on movies, hot chocolate and games.
My boys can't wait for game day and to be honest neither can I

Here is a few of the games we plan on playing:

Calling all Harry Potter fans! What better way to celebrate your fandom than with Pressman’s Harry Potter games? Embrace your inner Gryffindor with Harry Potter Magical Beasts and the Harry Potter Tri-Wizard Maze Tournament.

Magical beasts have broken loose at HOGWARTS! It’s up to your favorite wizards to capture them in the Harry Potter Magical Beasts Game. Play as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley or Ginny Weasley as you collect clues and track down creatures. The dynamic swinging game board adds excitement as you travel in and out of HOGWARTS. The first player to collect a magical beast wins. For 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up.

Muggles and wizards alike will be enchanted by the Harry Potter Tri-Wizard Maze Tournament! It features fast-action Pop ‘n’ Race play as you race around the Tri-Wizard Maze competing to capture the Tri-Wizard Cup! Beware - there are traps along the way that may hurt or help your journey throughout the maze. For 2 to 4 players, ages 5 and up.
Wizards and muggles both agree - these games are perfect for game night

Get ready to have a REEL-y good time when you play Shark Bite! Place the fun and colorful sea creatures into the game unit with a snap, and grab your friends to start playing. Players take turns rolling the die and fishing for the sea creatures using the fishing rods. But watch out - you never know when the shark is going to bite! This battery-free game will have kids hooked at first bite! Made by the o-FISH-cial creators of Let's Go Fishin'. Includes 1 hungry shark, 12 colorful sea creatures, 1 fishing rods, 1 die, 1 sticker sheet, and complete easy-to-follow instructions.
Out of all the games this one is most likely my favorite!  You never know who is going to get it.  Every time I pick the fish that makes the shark bite I jump!  My boys think this is hilarious.

Doggie Doo is everyone’s favorite pup! Feed your doggie, squeeze the leash, and after he makes his gassy sounds – plop! If you are the player who cleaned up the doo, you get a fart token. The player who has the most tokens at the end of the game wins! • New improved design used food pellets that make for mess-free clean up • Models responsibility in a fun (and gross!) way • 120 million views on Youtube and counting Game Contents: 1 Dog 1 Leash 1 Bone 1 Spinner 2 Food Pieces 11 Fart Tokens 1 Shovel 1 Storage Box Complete Instructions
So poop + kid = lots of fun!  My youngest son cant stop giggling when we play.  And not only does the doo come out, it SHOOTS out!

Get ready to make a splash with Hydro Strike! In this head-to-head pinball game, you’ll need fast flipping fingers to shoot the ball into your opponent’s goal. Score and your opponent will get sprayed in the face with water! Since a sprayer is aimed at both players, strike quick when you play, or you’ll get the spray! The first player to score 5 times wins. Will you win or get wet? For 2 players, ages 7 and up. Game Contents Game Unit 2 Balls Complete Instructions

So my boys bump heads just like any other brothers do.  This game is the best way to get back at an annoying brother (without getting grounded)  Plus my kids think it is a great that they get to squirt mom and dad in the face too :)

Danerous Praers 50 Powerful Prayers that changed the world

I was given a copy of this book to provide my honest feedback
Learn from the brave ones who have gone before you with Dangerous Prayers, an inspiring collection of prayers from people who have changed the world. Exploring historical figures, cultural icons, political leaders, saints, and martyrs, this book offers you a rich visual experience to explore the power of dynamic prayers.
From St. Francis of Assisi to Harriett Tubman to Billy Graham, God can use ordinary people who pray courageous prayers to do extraordinary things for Him. No matter your age, position, or status, praying dangerous prayers will change your life—and likely the world around you as well.
Gain wisdom from the prayer lives of spiritual giants and invigorate your faith as you consider those who came before you with Dangerous Prayers.

I was not overly impressed with this book.  So here is the layout:
1-2 pages about a certain historical person
and then a short prayer that they said.
The reason I'm not that impressed is the biography part is stuff you can find for free on the web.  As for the prayers, I feel like the title was very misleading.  For example, Helen Keller's prayer.  It wasn't even a prayer I was just a quote from her saying things she prays about.  I felt let down by a lot of the so called "Dangerous Prayers that changed the world" portrayed in this book. In my personal opinion save your money.
