The post is for you Rocky! Write a Post and Help a Dog! By Pedigree

Today I found a wonderful hop going on.  Its Write a post and help a dog hop and I'm honored to take part in it.

The amazing people at Pedigree are committed to help shelter dogs.  Pedigree helps with adopting and finding Shelter dogs loving homes.  And for every blog that makes a post before midnight Saturday June 30 2012 Pedigree will donate a 17 lb bag of Pedigree Dry dog food to a shelter in need.
I know many of you may not know this but, January 12 of this year 2012 I lost my dog Rocky :(  and I miss him every single day.  What made Rocky so special was he was my rescue dog.  I remember that day I remember seeing so many dogs and wishing I could take them all home.  And then I seen him the first time I met Rocky he stole my heart.  It was my 19th birthday and my dad said I could get a puppy, but I wanted a shelter dog.  And trust me it was love at first sight!  Here is a photo of Rocky:

Rocky was an amazing dog and no words I write here will ever express the love I felt for him.  I had him even before my kids or before I married my hubby he was the first member of my family.  So this post is for Rocky.  And all other shelters dogs like him.  May they find loving homes and families like my Rocky did.

For more info on how to write a post and help a dog check out this website:

New facebook for the blog.

After several horrible attempts I'm proud to say I finally set up a facebook for this blog!! It is still in its set up stage and I'm trying to find out if I can get my blog post to go right to my facebook!

I also want to use the facebook to post deals and freebies its easier on there
But anyway if anyone wanted to go and check it out and like the page here is the link

Buffalo chicken dip recipe

Buffalo chicken dip recipe

What you need
20 oz of canned chicken
16 oz of cream cheese
1 1/2 Cups of Mild Cheddar cheese
1 cup Ranch
3/4 Cup Hot sauce.

~Put your chicken and hot sauce in a pan and heat.  Stir it together.
~Next add your cheddar cheese, ranch, and cream cheese.  Stir this all together until it blends good.
~Now you can put your dip into a crock pot.
~Enjoy ;)

(NOTE you do not have to put this into a crock pot I do it so it stays warm.  You can put this right into a serving tray if you want.)

My family loves this with corn chips or crackers.  My little brother insist its really good on veggies too.....  I never tried that. :)

This is great for parties and my hubby loves this during football season :)

Boneless Honey BBQ Wings Recipe

                     Boneless Honey BBQ Wings Recipe

This is one of my favorite recipes and it is so much cheaper to make these yourself!

What you need

Boneless chicken breast (its up to you how much this recipe is for about a 1 1/2 lbs)
2 Cups Flour
2 eggs
2/3 Cup milk
1 bottle of BBQ sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce but you can use any kind you prefer)
1/4 Cup of honey (I buy my honey from The Honey Jar
Peanut or veggie oil to fry your wings.  (Use w/e oil your like to use to fry things)

~Put your oil into a pan and begin to heat.
~You have to cut up your chicken to the desired size.  (This is up to you how ever big or little you want)
~Place eggs and milk into a bowl .
~Put flour in a separate bag or bowl (I use a bag, but a bowl will work too.)
~In a third separate bowl combine honey and BBQ Sauce. (This is for the last step so put this aside for now)

~Take a piece of your now cut chicken and put into the flour, move it around so it becomes completely coated.
~ After it is coated put you chicken into the egg and milk mixture and completely coat it again.
~After all your chicken is coated start to drop your pieces into the frying oil.  Make sure to flip it once the bottom is done.
***Make sure your chicken is cooked all the way through.  It should have a nice brown outside and I normally test a piece by cutting into and making sure its all the way cooked.
~When chicken is done frying place on a paper towel covered plate.  This is just to drain extra oil.
~ Next put your chicken into your BBQ and Honey Mixture.
~When you have it coated to your own preference remove and eat :)

I hope you get the chance to enjoy this recipe!

In my recipe I mention The Honey Jar, if anyone would like any more information or if you would like to order here is their website:

Perplexus Rookie Review and GIVEAWAY!

**I have many giveaways coming up this month!  I just set up a new facebook page, you can see it at the top of the right side bar!  If you want to stay updated on all these giveaway you should like me on facebook too :)  I don't want you to miss out on any giveaways!

My review of the 'Perplexus Rookie' Maze ball!  And a giveaway!

As you all may know I have a very unique four year old. One thing you may not have known about him though is he loves doing puzzles and figuring things out.  So recently when I was given the chance to do a review for "Perplexus Rookie" I was super excited, because I knew my son would enjoy it.

I received The Perplexus Rookie On Friday June 22 and as of Tuesday June 26 it has passed the 5 day test!  Are you wondering what the 5 day test is?  On day 1 my son loves his new toys, to the point of being unable to put them down.  If my son still loves a toy on day 5 it passed the 5 day test!  I know it's silly, but any mom who ever bought a toy and after a day or two has seen it lying there no longer being played with, will understand the 5 day test lol :)  So yes "The Perplexus Rookie" has officially passed the 5 day test.

I will do my review as a question and answer review.  I will post a question that I think I would ask and give my honest answer.

What is a Perplexus Rookie?
It is a ball with a complex maze that you have to work a smaller metal ball through. You must twist and turn and sometimes even completely turn it upside down to work your ball from the start to the end.  The path is numbered so you don't lose your way.  There is 70 barriers you have to work your way through.  The Rookie is just the first in the series and is recommened for 4+.  There are also the Original and the Epic Perplexus mazes.

What are some of the benefits of this toy?
On the first day my son had a hard time getting the ball on the starting point.  I had to show him a few times.  By the end of the day he could do it himself.  So this proved to me it helps to build motor skills and hand-eye coordination.  My son has yet to make it to the finish, but each day I notice he does a little bit better!  And he is so proud of himself when he does.  He isn't perfect with his numbers yet so he keeps telling me things like, "Mom I got to the squiggly yellow thing."  Or, "Mom I made it all the way to the red bumps!"  From the photo I'm sure you can see it has my 1 year old entertained too.
Another benefit is the size.  I loved being able to take this in the car and have a peaceful ride!  (We just got home when I took this photo.  My car was parked in my driveway.  I was not driving and taking photos lol!)  My son did get frustrated though when I would hit a bump and knock the ball off the maze.

Is this just for children?
No! "The Perplexus Rookie" is fun for the whole family.  We played it on our family game night.  We were each given 5 minutes to see who could get the farthest.   I will post photos of the non-camera shy members of my family.
This is my hubby playing.  I think he made it to 43 as his highest barrier.
This is my brother's girlfriend.  She wouldn't let me see how far she got!

My little brother... hmm well he is 20 years old now and over 6' tall.  Maybe I should say my younger brother ;)!  He claims he got to the end, but the ball fell out before any of us could see...  Another great thing about this is my brother can't cheat!  He has been known to move a chess piece or rob the monopoly bank.

And this is my younger sister's boyfriend playing.  He got to 50 on the barriers!

Wondering who won??  ME!!!  I couldn't take a photo of myself so I took a photo of the ball!  And yes there was a victory dance!

We had a blast playing this and a few times had to make my dad give it up after his 5 minutes were up.  Everyone enjoyed it and I think it has become a permanent addition to our family game night!

Is there anything you would change?
The only thing I may change are the numbers on the course that let you know how far you are.  They just blend into the track.  I would have preferred them in black ink or some color so they stuck out more.  It was not an issue for me, more so for my dad who kept being unable to see them.  He does wear glasses though and was not wearing them when we were playing.

Where can I find more information on this product?
Perplexus      This is the website.  You can also find out what stores near you sell the rookie.

And if you have any questions about my experience feel free to ask.

My family and I really enjoyed the Perplexus Rookie.  It is a great challenge for the whole family.  And for my 4 year old it is a great motor building skill toy.  So I definitely recommend this product to other families :)

Bubbles Bath Boutique review

Bubbles Bath Boutique: A Review of my recent purchase! :)

A few weeks ago I wrote a review for a product that I won from the Bubble Bath Boutique here is the link to the review in case you didn't get a chance to read it:

I was so excited about finding this product and about how much I liked it that I went to the store and bought more items to try!

I ordered the orange creme pop and the Lifes a beach bath bomb.  I'm sure your can see for yourself how amazing these items look!  And I can tell you how amazing they smelled :)

The orange creme pop had an amazing citrus orange aroma with a lovely creme smell mixed in.  I loved how creamy it was when lathered and that even afterward my skin felt super soft.  The scent stays with you too, I still smelled like oranges and cream later on that day :)  And not an over-powering perfume smell, but a really pleasant natural fragrance.

Visually I'm sure you can see for your self how super cute and creative this is.  And its a great size I got my mine a few days ago and I still have some left!!  And fair warning I take 2 or 3 baths a day ;)!!   They also have cupcake soap in their sweet shoppe I plan on buying soon :)

Taste............. LOL No I know it looks that good, but I did not taste it ;)

Next was the Lifes a beach bath bomb.  I loved how much fizz action I got out of this!  It turned my tub water a pretty pinkish color and it smelled amazing, it is a mixture of several different scents that blend together to make a pleasing beach smell.  My bathroom actually held this smell for a bit as did my skin!

And if you interested in buying these are on sale right now!  But hurry because they are almost gone to make room for her new bath bomb line.

Also the bubble bath bar (I wrote a review a few weeks ago, link up top) those are on sale too :)

Here is the shoppe info:

This review is my opinion I purchased these items for myself. :)

Sharing My Favorite Book Giveaway!! Starts 6/24 and ends 6/30

sharing my favorite book giveaway hop
Sharing My Favorite Read Giveaway Hop is being hosted by Reading Romances!
I'm super excited to be part of this giveaway hop!  If you are like me you love to read, and it was really hard to limit my favorite book down to one, but in the end I choose a favorite author of mine who also happened to write my favorite book of 2012.....

Bear Meets Girl By Shelly Laurenston!!

I loved this book, and anyone who ever read a Shelly book knows she is an amazing author.  She writes paranormal romance, but the thing I love most about Shelly is her wit every time I read one of her books I find myself laughing out loud and wishing that I was part of her characters world.  Here is the link to her site if want to read about any of her other books:

I promise and give my word that you will not regret reading Shelly's work!   My first paranormal book was one written by her and Cynthia Eden they made me fall in love with paranormal romance.  Shelly Also writes an amazing Dragon Shifter series under the name G.A. Aiken.  If you get a chance you will want to check them out too.

My Review:
Lou Crushek likes his life the way it is, he doesn't like change and doesn't like crazy.  He enjoys his nice quite life as a shape shifting polar bear.....  Then in steps  Marcella Malone the crazy tiger shifter and turns his world upside down with her crazy family and even crazier friends.  She crashes into Lou's life and the polar bear is left unable to stop the changes she brings.  I like how their story unfolds and how the characters play off each other.   This is a laugh out loud paranormal romance that stays with you long after you read it.
Note:  This book is an ADULT romance book, so you must be 18+ to enter this giveaway.

All opinions are my own, I bought this book on my own.

This contest is rafflecopter form.  Opened to USA only due to shipping.  And you must be 18+ to enter.

Recipe: Loaded Cheesy Potatoes Casserole

Recipe For my Loaded Cheesy Potatoes Casserole

For this you will need:
8 Potatoes
1/2 Cup Evaporated Milk (this comes in a can)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 bag of Shredded Cheddar Cheese (you can use whatever cheese you want this is my favorite)
Crumbled up bacon (judge how much you want, I normally do 4 strips for 8 potatoes)
1/2  cup sour cream
2 tablespoons of chives

-Preheat the oven to 350
-Peel and slice your potatoes, put them into a pot of water bring them to a boil.  You should be able to get a fork easily through when they are done.
-When your potatoes are cooking make your bacon and crumble it.  I normally let it cool a bit and then crumble it in paper towel this way it also takes out the extra grease.

-Now that your potatoes are done put them in a blender or hand held mixer whatever you use and make them look like mash potatoes :).
-When they are nice and creamy add all of you liquid ingredients and blend some more.
-When this is good and blended add the rest.
(For cheese you can judge yourself how much you want to use, the same with the bacon.
I always save some cheese and bacon so I can put that on top at the end.)

-Okay now everything is blended, this is the part where you put it into a casserole dish or a glass pan whatever you want to call it.  (I normally taste at this point ;)!!!)
-I add my set aside bacon and cheese now to the top.  You don't have to do this I just like too.
-Put in the oven and wait for the top layer of cheese to be melted then they are done :)  The oven doesn't really cook anything it just melts your cheese for you so there is no set time on how long it should stay in.

You can use these ingredient to make twice baked potatoes too.  The cooking technique is different for twice baked potatoes though.

I hope you like and get the chance to enjoy this recipe :)

Mom 101: The Chair of Doom

The Chair of Doom

As you all know by now my son how a very unique way of thinking, I wanted to post this story earlier but am just finally getting the chance now.  Be ready to laugh.

Last week me and my family went to the beach, our hotel room had a public deck with really nice rocking chairs.
I took my kids out and left my hubby take a shower in our room.  Well after I sat down I realized my rocking chair was sitting wrong, that our stroller with my 1 year old in it wouldn't fit in front of me.  So I moved the chair and it made a noise like well you know the noise it makes!!!  A farting noise......
Anyway my sons whispers really loudly,
"Mom should we pretend it was the chair or should I act like there is a duck in the room."  With a bright red face I said to my son.
"Hun it was the chair now shush."
My son make a really obnoxious wink at me, gives me a thumbs up  and says
"Okay mom whatever you say."  Then he turns to the old couple sitting next to us and tells them.  "Sorry my mom has gas oh I mean it was the chair............"  Then he proceeds to wink at them too!
The couple laughed hysterically, I on the other hand was bright red and ready to hurt my husband for not hurrying and coming to my rescue lol
But to top it off (and trust me I would never cheat on my hubby but this was hard not notice.)  there was a really cute guy sitting on the deck too....  And I mean super cute!!!   :(  and yes he laughed too!

~~I remember as a teenager when my mom showed all my boyfriends embarrassing photos of me......  I get it now, it was revenge!!~~

Hope this post made you smile :)

Mom 101. Pizza Anyone

Pizza anyone?

from 6/5 (From the beautiful mind of a 4 year old tab)

Today me and my kids got our haircut.  Yes we all get our haircut the same day from the same woman :)  Anyway my boys were really good so I decided to treat them to pizza.  I asked my 4 year old

"What kind of pizza do you want?"  He pondered for a minute or two and then replied.
"Mom lets get your favorite kind of pizza."  I liked the way this sounded :)  So I told my 4 year old.
"My favorite topping is pepperoni."  A look of pure horror crossed my 4 year old's face and he told me.
"Okay mom we can get pepperoni, but make sure you tell them to pick off all the pepperoni me and Quinn (my 1 year old.) hate them."  I raised my eye brow and asked my son.
"So I should just get a plain pizza."  He shook his head, and in all earnest replied.
"Mom some times I think you just like being difficult..........."

Does anyone else see the irony?

lol needless to say we got plain pizza!  But I thought it was cute my 4 year old thought getting a plain pizza was more difficult, as opposed to his suggestion of getting a pepperoni and then asking for all the pepperonis to be removed.

I love you Brandon Jr.

Quote of the Day

Any Judy Garland fans out there??  Today's quote is one of her's...

“Always be a first rate version of yourself and not a second rate version of someone else.” ~Judy Garland

Love this quote it reminds me that being myself is the only way to be my personal best.   (my own quote here) instead of looking at others and thinking I wish I was more like them, or worse looking at others and saying at least I'm better then them, why not look at yourself and say 'today I'm going to be the best me I can possible be.'

I hope you like today's quote!  :)

A Bubbly Review: Bubbles Bath Boutique

I recently won a prize from the Bubbles Bath Boutique!  And I loved it!

The Bubble Bath Boutique is run by the wonderful Caron, her store has an amazing variety of bath products some of which are homemade soaps, bath bombs, baskets, and a beautiful treat selection!  All of which can be found here:

~~The item I won was a Baby Breath Bubble Bath Bar it exceeded my expectations.  The scent was divine and after my bath my skin felt smoother.  It was very generously sized so I broke it several times and got a few uses out of it.  Each time the results were the same the same amazing scent and the super smooth skin which was caused by the cocoa butter.  It got to the point where I couldn't wait until bath time :)!~~

She also has a blog which can be found here:

So if you are in the mood to make bath time heavenly check out the Bubble Bath Boutique!

All opinions are my own, I received this item in a giveaway.

Mom 101. Where Babies Come from

Where babies come from 6/2

Today my 4 year old sat down with me to eat breakfast.  After a bite or two my 4 year old looks at me and says in all seriousness:
"Mom I know where babies come from."
A bit shocked and a whole lot worried I choked on my eggs.  After I gained back my breath and could breath again I asked my 4 year old:
"And where do babies come from sweetie?"  He leaned in real close as if to tell me life's great secret, he looked to his left and looked to his right and then whispered to me.
"from mommies tummies."

I love you Brandon Jr :)
